So, understanding the campaign objectives and choosing them properly is going to have a BIG impact on the results that you get with your Facebook ads.
When working with clients, the first thing that I always want to do in choosing the campaign objective is to ask the question – “What is the goal for the campaign?”
In all of our experience, you can really boil the campaigns down to 2 basic goals and there is a variety of variations of those types of goals. Generally speaking, however, we're either trying to…
- Generate some kind of lead
- Get a direct sale immediately online
That is the most BASIC form.
Now, there are some other variations that are going to depend on your type of business model, like if you're doing apps for iPhone or Android, there's different settings in there for that. There also are some fringe type markets that fall outside of those 2 categories. But, for the majority of online business owners, if we're applying the 80/20 principle… 80% of them are going to fall into either direct to sale or some form of lead generation.
So, when we know what the goal of the campaign is and we have that in mind, that is going to guide the decision making that we're going to use when selecting the campaign objectives.
So, in the video above, I'm going to pull up my computer screen and walk you through the inside of my account and all of the campaign objectives that are currently inside of Facebook. I'm also going to show you what the most common ones are that we use for ourselves and for the clients in our agency, and explain different scenarios in which we use those objectives.
I'm also going to show you how the objectives can actually be a really unique way for you to scale campaigns that many people don't know about. I'll be revealing that towards the end of the video… so pay attention!
